Frequently Asked Questions

I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Support is tailored to the individual’s needs, goals, and stage of life, and may include individual therapy for children, parent-focused sessions, or therapy for adolescents and adults.
-
Support is available for a range of concerns, including anxiety, mood difficulties, trauma-related difficulties, emotional regulation challenges, behavioural difficulties, adjustment difficulties, body image concerns, and neurodevelopmental support (including ADHD and Autism)
-
Therapy is collaborative and tailored to the individual. Sessions may include discussion, psychoeducation, skills-building, and structured therapeutic strategies selected based on the person’s needs, goals, and developmental stage.
With children, therapy is developmentally appropriate and may include creative and structured activities (such as drawing, crafts, or games) to support engagement and understanding. Therapeutic work remains goal-directed and focused on building emotional awareness, regulation skills, and adaptive coping.
-
Where appropriate, parents may be involved throughout the therapy process. This can include brief check-ins at the beginning or end of sessions, discussion of strategies being introduced, and guidance on how to support skill development at home.
Parent involvement occurs with consideration of the child’s comfort and consent. Children often enjoy inviting their parent in to share what they have been working on.
Parent-focused sessions are also available and may be accessed separately, where clinically appropriate.
