About Melissa Fadden
I am a Registered Psychologist with a broad interest in supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families across a range of emotional, behavioural, and life challenges.
My work is grounded in evidence-based practice and developmental understanding, with support tailored to the individual to promote meaningful change over time.
I work collaboratively with clients to understand their experiences, identify goals, and develop practical strategies that feel achievable and relevant to everyday life. Therapy is guided by professional standards and informed by approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and attachment-informed frameworks.
A Focus on Children, Parents, and Early Support
A significant part of my work is dedicated to supporting children and their families through Raising Roots, a core pillar of Reign of Mind Psychology.
This work is grounded in early support and intervention where appropriate, and an understanding that children’s behaviour is closely connected to their emotional world, developmental stage, and environment. I support children presenting with emotional regulation difficulties, behavioural challenges, anxiety, and adjustment concerns, using developmentally appropriate and child-friendly therapeutic approaches.
Children’s therapy often incorporates creative, skills-focused, and developmentally appropriate interventions. Creative activities (such as crafts) may be used to support engagement and rapport, while therapeutic work remains goal-directed and tailored to the child’s needs and goals. Parents are supported as an important part of this process, with opportunities to understand what their child is learning in therapy and how skills can be supported at home.
In addition to child sessions, I also offer parent-focused sessions. These sessions provide space for parents to explore concerns, build understanding of child development and behaviour, and develop practical strategies to support their child’s wellbeing. Where appropriate, this may include exploring attachment, family patterns, and intergenerational experiences
Working with Adolescents and Adult
Alongside child and parent work, I support adolescents and adults experiencing a range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, mood concerns, trauma-related difficulties, behavioural challenges, adjustment difficulties, and body image concerns, and support related to neurodevelopmental differences such as Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Therapy provides a supportive space to explore challenges, develop insight, and build skills for emotional regulation, behaviour change, and wellbeing. Interventions are tailored to the individual, recognising that each person’s experiences, strengths, and goals are unique.
